Firstly, I agree with the Rhodes suspension. We have seen that ruck clearing style used a lot this season and I have never been happy with it. Lets face it, way too much can go wrong there as your literally rolling a player away by his neck. Sometimes its a combo of the neck and the arm but the fact remains that the neck is in play. It's just too dangerous and I can't see why it has been ignored or overlooked for so long. Michael Rhodes to me, seems to be the unlucky guy that got punished when everyone else does it.
Secondly, how on earth does Siale Piutau not get found guilty of punching? He has retaliated and that is always punished, but not now? Where is the consistency?
Judicial officer Nick Davidson said "Piutau's reaction was that of someone who had been seriously endangered (and) to impose a sanction in these circumstances would not reflect the effect on Piutau of the incident and a reaction that was the product of shock rather than retaliatory intent."
What a load of rubbish! Nick, you have got that wrong bud! have a look at this YouTube clip and you can see why Rhodes is in trouble but Piutau retaliates. So basically the message is simple, if you felt that you were seriously endangered then you can throw punches.
