World Cup: Fiji v South Africa Recap

Finally the 'Boks seemed to show the class that we all know thy have. I just want to know where the hell it has been hiding or who has been suppressing it for so long! Either way, it was out for all to see on Saturday as the South Africans showed some fight and determination as they took it to the large islanders from Fiji.

The much talked about clash between the World Champions and the Islanders was picked as being a possible stumbling block in the World Cup defense for the 'Boks but they came out as a team with a point to prove.
Lots of people seemed to forget the Francois Steyn could kick over 50m, he reminded them all in the 11th minute by knocking over a 55m penalty to open the scoring for SA in Wellington. It was followed up by a further two tries and penalties with one conversion, all before the half time whistle.
The Fijians seemed a little shell shocked and just couldn't spread the ball wide due to the South Africans stellar defense. They were forced back into the forwards on every attempt to send it wide and this ultimately tired them out and limited their opportunities.
The Springboks scored four converted tries in the second half securing their first bonus point win of the World Cup.
Try scorers were spread between the forwards with tries from Steenkamp, Fourie, Steyn (1 try from each), The Beast and lastly from Mr Dependable, Danie Rossouw.
The Springboks running out 49-3 winners and are now set to finish top of their group heading into the Quarters.

Man of the Match: Patrick Lambie
